You told me you didn't want a wedding. You wanted a day. There's a difference, and I think you knew exactly what it was.

So you got married in your backyard. The light came through the trees the way it always does at your house. The kids did what kids do. The hammock did most of the heavy lifting. There was no schedule to keep, so we didn't keep one.

The world's most underrated wedding is the one that happens at home. Some couples spend a year planning to get away. You spent the day not having to.
